Awesome movie, and it looks sooooo great on a big screen tv. My moms "boyfriend" just got a 65" 4k TV, and I'll tell you that Speed racer looks INSANE on that.

I saw it in theaters when it first came out. Wasn't a big fan of it.

The movie isn't that great really, but it's awesome if that makes any sense. And seeing it on a huge screen with high res makes it worth it. It's more amazing effects and colours than anything else.

It's about as true to the original tv show as you can imagine a live-action version being. Every color is oversaturated, all the effects are exaggerated. If you're expecting a gritty, realistic remake, you'll be disappointed.

The movie is a very color over saturated and exaggerated retelling of the original 60s-70s show. The story is by no means the best reiteration of it, but it's tolerable and as cheesy as you'd think it is.

Overall, I'd give it a 6.5/10 at best.

I utterly HATED that movie. Completely destroyed my childhood hero. The fact that the Mach 5 made only a cameo completely destroyed it for me. Also the fact that everyone had gadgets and how somehow Speed was beating records while spinning off of the crack and everything.

Where did you find a 4k copy of Speed Racer?

One of my all-time favorites. I saw it in theaters, then in the bargain bin at a Blockbuster for $7, in Blu-ray. Good price for something I've watched probably 30 times now. I even pulled my senior quote for the high school yearbook from Racer X's speech to Speed.

I didn't, but my Blu-Ray player does a rather nice job of converting HD to 4k.

I see to remember it having lots of quick flashbacks and the pace is chaotic. It was hard to keep up with.
